I bought these three balls of yarn a bit over a year ago on a trip to Finland and they’ve been patiently waiting to be cast on.

I’m starting with the lightest colour at the bottom with the intention of having the darkest colour at the top towards my neck, with each colour taking up approximately a third.

As I’d heard elsewhere, I’m finding that the yarn is sticky and it’s resulting in slow knitting, but it will be worth it in the end when it’s super soft after washing.

I’m not getting row gauge so, after calculations, I reduced the distance between decreases and increases at the waist.

22 May - I began on the first sleeve and hesitant to play too much yarn chicken I’ll use three colours in the sleeves. I also did my maths and based on row gauge my increases will be every 10th row.

26 May - I’ve joined the sleeves to the body and I’m worried that my row gauge may cause issues with the height of the yoke.. time for more maths!

29 May - I used my maths to reduce the number of rows but keep the same number of decreases on the yoke. I wanted a slightly smaller neckline so I added in one final row of decreases after shaping the neck. All ends woven in and it has been washed - the yarn has plumped up nicely!
