I wanted to use these socks as my first two-at-a-time knit socks but the different pattern on the left and right sock, and the fiddliness of two-at-a-time, means I’ve decided to put one sock on hold and I’ll do them separately as usual :)
Project notes
I cast on the smallest size with 56st, and while it fits, I probably should have gone up to 60st when using 2.25mm needles.
I alternated working on each sock by completing a section and then doing the same on the other sock and they’ve turned out the same size (I have a tendency to knit the second with a tighter gauge when I do them one at a time).
I used my most familiar heel turn which is similar to the one in the pattern.
I started the toe decreases when I thought I had 2” to go but when I finished the instructions (except the grafting) my toes weren’t covered yet and the section wasn’t 2” long.
I decided to continue the decreases on every row until I had 8st remaining and then I cut the yarn and wove the tail through the remaining stitches. Having done this, my toe section is now 2” long.
Overall a good pattern - you do need to concentrate a little but the end result is beautiful.
