Notes

I thoroughly enjoyed testing this pattern. It is a lovely stitch pattern and an easy two row repeat. The finished fabric has the boxy look of corner-to-corner crochet to me, but it is worked in rows (or in the round for the hat), rather than diagonally.

The pattern is clear and well written, I will be using this one again, for sure.

I used 165 metres/181 yards for the hat and 290 metres/320 yds for the scarf.

I made my scarf with 12 ‘blocks’ (37 st) and 65 rows, the finished width is 8 inches and length is 34.5 inches laid flat. I haven’t blocked it, and it’s pure merino, so it would stretch out quite a bit if I did, but I like the squishiness of it unblocked and think it makes a nicer fabric.

It’s a lovely flat fabric with no curl, I think it would be great for a blanket or cushion.
