Loved the yarn, loved the pattern. I think this my favorite project to date. The Wagtail is just scrumptious, doesn’t bind like other mohairs, easy to work with, easy to fix mistakes, doesn’t split - just wonderful.

8/5/12 - FINISHED - just need to block! The pattern calls for 427 yards and I used about 800 yards. The yarn is listed as DK, but it really seems like a fingering in the hand. Used #6 square (kollage) needles.

7/12/12 - Stayed up late last knitting that last final row, then checked to see how to finish/bind of and realized there are 2 edging charts! Grr! The NEVER ENDING SHAWL!

6/14/12 - Success! After two weeks of persistence Wagtail yarns should be sending new yarn soon (well, we hope - I paid for the yarn today but the turn around time for returning an email is about 5 days so hopefully their shipping is faster)

6/2/12 - SCREETCHing halt! I’m to the lovely lovely boarder and don’t have enough yarn. Worst part, I can’t find any of Wagtail copper to save my life …! spend the afternoon swatching with some stash yarn, thinking it might work to use a complementary multi-colored yarn for the border … and nope, not gonna work. Oh dear. Oh dear.

5/24/12 - so close! Only 4 more knit rows in the pattern, but sh** it looks like I might not have enough yarn! Drat!

12/5/11 - Moving quickly as long as I’m giving it 90% of my attention! Put it onhold, while I work on something in worsted for awhile, lol.

11/19/11 - Moving quickly now that I have markers, and counting stitches on the pearl rows. Loving this!

11/17/11 - pulling this out of hibernation, just finished two sweaters so ready to tackle this lace again! LOVE the yarn! I’ll just say my first 35 rows have been slow going because when I do make a mistake it takes me ages to fix it! The last mistake I just couldn’t figure out. Frogging the last two rows than I’ll use markers between the sections so I can more quickly find errors. this is not the best watching a movie, road trip project, needs a lot of focus (which I never have :)
