Notes

Wildflowers in blossom in an alpine valley of the Colorado Rockies. I love the finished project, although it was one of the most frustrating projects I’ve ever knit. Be warned, there is no chart and no stitch count so it is very tedious work. Once I color coded the chart and borrowed radiolazy’s stitch count found here, I figured out the increase pattern and was able to go much faster because I no longer had to refer to the pattern line by line. I think I had to frog more rows on this project than any other lace project I’ve done. I also made a mistake in row 11 or 13 of the diamond pattern, but didn’t catch it until I was doing the border. I actually really like my “mistake” - now it looks like mountain peaks, which is very appropriate considering it is named for a pass in the Colorado Rockies.

In addition to the pattern being a pain in the ass, the yarn was really awful to work with because it was so damn stitic-y. I literally resorted to keeping a wet paper towel in the project bag.
