Going to be a combination of two patterns since i love the band on this one - cable band, and will adjust this one for sz 10 needles .. i’ve a smaller head than your average adult so smaller needles should work better for me

11.28.2012 - finished cable band; 16 repeats

** main hat body pattern repeat of 9 sts; 169 = 144
pick up 144 sts for hat body (or multiples of 9)

12.5.2012 - reached the part to start decreasing, opted to add another pattern set or two for length
