Lap blanket, knit on diagonal with randomly placed colors and rows of YO K2T. Finished with crochet edging. Worked on while traveling so took about a year.

“Plant dyed Icelandic wool (einband), colored according to old traditions. Guðrún Bjarnadóttir mainly uses Icelandic plants such as rhubarb, lichen, flowers and leafs from lupine, also indigo, cochineal, madder root and onion.”

Main part of blanket finished (knit).

ROUND 1: Work Single Crochet into each stitch around the blanket, working 3 SC into each corner space. Join the round ch 1 and turn.

ROUND 2: 1 SC, SK next SC, 5 DC into next SC, SK next SC, 1 SC into next SC, repeat to the end. Join with a slip stitch to starting SC, tie off and weave in the ends. Repeat two more rounds, alternating 5 DC and SC with previous row.
