12-03-2017

Swatched and took awhile to decide in colors. Decided it made sense to channel the traces of Portuguese porcelain “azulejo” with a navy/white main color motif. Touches all bases and cultures, originally the blue/white porcelain comes from China (“qing hua”), then the Portugese adopted it, then the Dutch, as “delftware blauw.” I’m Chinesec knitting in the Netherlands, using Portuguese yarn, channeling the colors of traditional porcelain pottery.

Off the needles, pulled it on and it fits great, very cozy. Avoiding weaving in the ends…

Wove in all the ends, time to prep for the steek!

Cut the steek!!! and kitchenered the underarms together. Will probably sit for a bit as I decide how I want to go about the buttonband.

Finished just waiting for me to sew on the buttons. I don’t have matching brown thread for the buttons, been meaning to go pick some up.
