To make the hat newborn size, I increased only to 40 stitches. I did the first white round on row 4 and the second one on row 9. I only worked a total of 10 rows.

I did the earflaps like Sarah’s owl hat (really the whole hat is modeled more after the owl hat because I wanted a smaller size).
