Doing toe-up 2-at-a-time magic loop.
Cast on 18 sts; enlarging sock by approximately 10% -92 sts instead of 84.

Frogged 1 st attempt - toe area was too “pointy” so I cO 18 again (“figure 8” cast on - 9 sts per “side”) and increased every row until there’s 38 sts per side. Then increase every other row til there are 46 sts per side (92 sts total).

So 92 sts is a little big so on the sides of the foot, I’m adding a wee bit of ribbing, and have decreased 4 sts per sock (now 84 sts). Still, they seem to be going well.

Got several inches done on both socks - had the boy try them on: they’re too BIG. I will frog and cast on a 3rd time…..

My gauge is:7.5 sts per inch, and 11 rows per inch. I’d go down a needle size - the socks would last longer - but I cannot find my fecking size 0’s that I just bought. Poopies.

Bought more size 0’s- started over. the toe box is much wider and rather raggedy:::sigh:::. Knit about 5 in so far and they fit!

Had to re-do the heels twice.Eventually I extended the 1x1 rib thru the heel and then did a 2x2 cuff. They fit only OK, but I’m NOT re-doing them and he adores them, so it’s alright.

My son has been wanting handknitted socks for a long long time. I found this yarn on sale online and decided that now was the time since the yarn is definitely machine-washable & dryable.

He has size 13 feet (11.69’’ long, 4.4” wide)so I was dreading the knitting, but this pattern seemed like it would not be completely boring, I could make them bigger easily enough, and he would enjoy the fit.
