Notes

The winter weather is very cold. Blossom has grown out of most of her merino leggings. I’ve wanted to make her these for ages. She said she will wear them, so…
The project has begun.

I didn’t have enough Orb yarn in the Shell colour so I bought some in a contrasting colour and decided to make bands of alternating colours.
The leggings are snug, but they fit.
If Inmade this pattern again I think I would go up another size hook , maybe 4.5.
Blossom really likes them and they are nice and warm.
I love working this stitch pattern. It is fast and it’s easy to get into a rhythm.
I am making the legs ankle length because it is winter, unusually cold, and I want Blossom to be warm.
I need to make another 8 rows on the longest leg, so I may have to use a different pink yarn at the bottom.
I have a similar yarn in alpaca with silver accent.

Thinking about the sizing again.To increase the width a bit I would make a number extra starting chain for more pattern repeats, probably two, to allow for one for each leg. I think this would be more effective than just changing the hook size.
I haven’t found that the body of the pants is loose compared to the legs. The whole garment fits snugly.

I’ve used the Stirling Alpaca for the bottom row on the leg. It looks very pretty.

Legs are 38 rows long.
Body is 20 rows long.
4 rows of ribbing.
I will thread elastic lace through the ribbing.
