Notes

I’ve tried out a few different mesh bag patterns in the last few months.
I liked the look of this bag so Im trying this one.
So far I’ve liked all the bags.

I stopped increasing at 16 ch. My bag seemed to be getting too wide.

I worked up to Row 33 and started working the border. I realised that the bag had turned out enormous. Just way to big to be practical. I undid my work all the way back to row 21. I will carry on with spaces of 12 chain until the bag looks to be ready to start decreasing. What I have learnt with making mesh bags is that they can vary enormously in length and width.
I think you need to stop increasing as soon as the bag looks wide enough, and only make as many rows as you need to provide the length that you want.
Keeping in mind that they stretch a lot when filled.

Made about two rows of 12 chain and then began gradually decreasing. Went down to 4 chain spaces on the last mesh row. Then 4 dc (European) into each space. About 5 rows of dc in total around the top.
Straps are 90 chain long, 5 rows of dc wide, and spaced equidistantly around the top of the bag.
I am happy with this adjustment. The bag is a good size and not gapey at the top. The netting is a good size, neither too big or too small.
