Been meaning to make these mittens all year for Marilyn. But shipping for Tanis yarn was a little spending for me at the moment. Bought some yarn at my LYS in similar weight, hopefully it will work out!

So far so good. Just started the green liners. Ended up going down two needle sizes in order to get the right gauge and have the inner mitten a tad smaller than the outer. Also, made some adjustments to pattern to accommodate smaller row gauge with the staccato:

Pickup and knit 4 rows on size 3, switch to size 2.75mm.
16 rows total for cuff, then begin thumb gusset.
Add another non-increase row when there are 13 stitches on thumb gusset. And another non-increase row after there are 17 stitches.
