Notes

Miss M. wanted a Summer Sweater that is a little less see-through than the Silken Straw makes it. I think the Sparrow will give her the results she’s looking for. The really nice thing about the pattern is that you can substitute yarn very easily as long as your stitch and row gauges are not too far off from Silken Straw’s gauges.

This is the first project where I have experienced biasing. When I laid the top out to dry after washing, I saw that it had a very strong tendency to spiral. I was able to pull the top into proper blocking position and remove the biasing.

Sparrow has a nice subtle sheen to it that Euroflax Linen does not have.

UPDATE: Miss M. had me take out the I-cord and 40 rows of stockinette from the bottom and then bind off with the Interlock Bindoff. She wanted a stretchier bind-off than the I-cord gives, and she wanted a shorter top. She also preferred the interlock bind-off for the smoother edge than the I-cord edge. Removing 40 rows from the bottom brings me to 5 rows before the first decrease.
