Couldn’t take the written instructions anymore so I charted them.

Modifications

The fabric with the US3 needles was way too loose, so I went to US1 needles very early on. Didn’t rip; I can deal with a slightly looser base.

Unzipped the cast-on and did a three-needle bind off early on, so I could customize the length of the pattern as I went.

Three full repeats of the heraldic cable pattern, plus a little bit extra to get to length.

Switched to k2p2 ribbing on the non-flap side for the last 5 rounds, continued cable pattern on flap side.
