Notes

Test knit :)

Swatched, just about got gauge spot on (very slightly tight).

This yarn is such a beautiful rich colour (especially in the sun).

I only did 3cm of ribbing initially, as I didn’t want the neck-line too tight/high (if you do this make sure your cast on edge is stretchy enough).

7th Mar: In the short-row section I actually did shadow-wraps (using Alice Yu instructions) as no matter how I do my w&t’s, I always seem to get holes! - No holes this time :)

11th Mar: Body decreases done.
I did the decreases every 7 rows instead of 8 to fit my shape better.

17th Mar: Hip increases done.
I worked to ‘middle’ of my waist before starting and only did 4 lots (i.e. same number of increases as decreases).

21st Mar: OK because I did less hip increases, for the 2x2 ribbing at the bottom of the body I started with k1, then ‘p2 k2’ - to last stitch, then k1. If the amount of ‘further’ increases you do is an odd number, you’ll need to do this (size S).

22nd Mar: Ribbing done. I did ’2x2 Invisible Ribbed Bind-Off’ , and as I’ve never done it, it did take me quite a while (although I got quicker towards the end!). It looks good though, and most importantly (and the reason I did it in the first place), it has enough stretch. However, I have to say I wouldn’t use it again for as many stitches as this, I just don’t think all the extra time was worth it. It would be good for a hat or socks though. (note to self: circumferencex2.5)

1st April: Finished & blocking.
I did two extra decrease rounds on the sleeves so that they would be fitted like the jumper, and I am happy with them.
I also did the ribbing (neck, bottom & sleeves) all the same width.

I don’t wear many close fitting clothes, but I do like this. The cable panel makes it contract in all the right places, so that it hugs your figure. I think I will wear it for special occasions.

Update - 5th January 2014!
I’ve worn it for the first time today! I suddenly thought - where is that orange jumper I made, and I rummaged around and found it out.
The reason I put it away was because the weather was warming up when I finished it & there were loads of ends to sew in! (50g balls). So I’ve sewn (most of) them in, and I thought I would also take a couple of new pics. I included one of the wrong side, because I just love the texture.
It is a great jumper & now that I’ve ‘re-discovered’ it I intend to wear it a lot this winter!
