Okey. The welt-thing was not at easy as I thought. You’re supposed to create a flap that comes _out_ of the shawl and you’re picking up the original sts on another needle and knit them together with the ones you have after 8 rows! Why didn’t he write it like that? :)

Note #1: I didn’t use a spare needle during the first pickup, you can pick up the stitches as you knit (together). Then I had to surrender. It takes more time, but it’s harder to find and keep the right stitches without it.

Note #2: Yes, you’re supposed to make large holes! No wraps&turns. The tricky part is keeping track of how many times you’ve made the turns. I count the stitches in the middle (10 in the first section).

Oh no. Just got an e-mail from Westknits. There’s an error in the pattern. After each section (1-8) there should be one knit round and one purl round with color A. If you bought this pattern after 7th August 2013, it should be correct.
