9/13- yeah. finally put on the braided earpulls. and reblocked, as the crochet looked a bit wonky. but now it is done! hurrah!!!!! and i just love love love this hat.

2/11- two months later… oh this is shameful. just finished the crochet border.

12/9- finished knitting. but i made a poor color choice early on, so i’m going back and doing a duplicate stitch in charcoal grey and pulling out the white as i go. this will take a bit. but i think it’s the easiest way. still have the ear pulls, and crocheted edging to do, then blocking.

yarns:

mid grey: stonehenge fiber mill shepherd’s wool, worsted
charcoal greys: leftover knit picks swish dk and another odd ball, worsted
black: random acrylic from days of yore.
white: random fishermans wool, worsted
red: berroco ultra alpaca light

my brother requested a hat exactly like last years (it got lost), but in white, grey and black (i added the red. it needed a touch of color). i’m not sure about exactly, but it’s gonna be pretty dang close. i love these projects for scrap busting.
