last year for christmas i made my brother a jayne cobb hat, which he has loved. this year he asked for a hat that was similar in style, but warmer and in blue green and brown, for his days on the mountain snowboarding. so i knit this hat in fair isle at a tighter gauge for warmth, in primarily wools with bits of other fibers in there. good project for using scraps!

12/27-not sure how much of any of this yarn i used on this hat, and as well as the ones mentioned above, i used scraps from probably four other yarns whose labels have been long lost. i mainly tried to use dk weight, though a couple yards of worsted snuck their way in.

i used fair isle patterns that suited my stitch count (120) from a book of fair isle patterns.

i still have to put earflaps on this hat…

1-2- finished it late late the night before my brother flew home. the book i took all patterns out of was knitting fair isle mittens and gloves. last touches were the earflaps, ropey pulls at the end, and a crocheted border. will seems pretty happy with it, and i am too!
