Loving this - it’s a great pattern, easy to follow, makes a great deal of sense….

Suggestions:
Use stitch markers for the return - eg. knit to within X of the start of row marker. Turn, knit back (X), place marker, knit on… when you come back, knit to the new marker - remove marker, turn, knit X, replace marker (on both sides).
Second picture shows lifeline - not sure it’s really needed with such a contrast between the colours, though…
