This is the box I’m using for the longest-shortest charity knit. The idea is to fill it with items to be donated to charities. (Note the log cabin blanket behind the box - there’ll be one IN the box before I’m done!).

If you like the idea of knitting from the longest to the shortest day for charity, why not get your own box? Or pledge an amount to your favourite charity, if I manage to fill this one? :)

There are four tea cosies, an adult hat and a baby hat so far. There’s also a lap rug in process and squares being knitted from the little bits left over from other projects.

Ebay is a great source of stash yarn!

Well, the tea cosies have all gone, and two hats, and the box is still overflowing!

A couple of lap rugs will go tomorrow (taking them in to a friend at work).

The stripy thing on top oc the box is a scarf-in-progress.

I’ve sent off many scarves and hats to various charities; donated a number of tea cosies to another, and sent off a blanket and tiny hat to a friend’s premature baby-relative.

The box is now collecting materials to be used in teaching (see my profile for where and when), as examples. :)
