Using two strands of DK

I’m more or less following the outlines of the pattern but:
Not doing the skip stitch in the middle
Not having a right/wrong side - every row has the shaping on the first half, and not on the second. This means I don’t have to look at it at all and can blithely knit away while reading/in meetings, etc.

29.2.24 One strip done (on waste yarn for finishing) - 211grm
3.3.24 Second strip done - calling it 422 grm
30 3 24 Now up to 7 complete strips (that’s the photo in the bag)

11 4 24. Done! Just over 2k

Note: I mentioned these blankets to someone in one of our local authorities who said she could find homes for them - this one and another are now in the cwtch (Welsh word meaning hug or cuddle…) corners of a couple of schools and are apparently much in demand and much loved.

This makes me very, very happy. :)
