12/22/07: I think this will be an easy one as long I pay attention to the yarn overs. I tend to zone out on simple projects…

01/01/08: The pattern states to increase until there are 190 stitches and then start the decreases. I only increased to 186 stitches because I was running out of my first skein and didn’t want to start the second one without being halfway through… considering the pattern only calls for two skeins. My other gripe, though a small one, is that this yarn has a small white thread wrapped around the larger yarn… and it gets caught up on the needles and wants to snag.

01/11/08: Finished. I was right… I had a few forgotten yarn overs that I had to go back and fix. I’m glad I only increased to 186 stitches because I ended up with just enough yarn. I had about a foot left over, so I would have had to go get a third skein if I had followed the directions as written. But, otherwise, it was an easy knit and a nice finished product. I think my niece will be pleased.

Update: I gave this to my niece on January 12th, the day after I finished it. Her baby was born on January 13th… a sweet baby boy. I had good timing on this one! Or, I was lucky for once…
