This is a sample hat for my Louisa Harding Charity Event on October 5, 2012 at Knitique, in Elk Grove, CA to raise funds for Louisa’s charity, Macmillan Cancer Support.

Louisa Harding Yarns donated the Thistle yarn so I could make Himalayan Hiking Hat kits and offer them for a donation at my event. Soak donated a Soak sample for the kits as well.

I made my pom pom with a pom pom maker.

I’m supporting designer Louisa Harding as she undertakes the Macmillan Nepal Hiking Challenge November 1 - 11th, 2012 to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Louisa is designing a series of seven Himalayan Hiking Hat patterns to help her fundraising effort. Her personal aim is to have her photo taken wearing one of the hats on each day of the seven day hiking trek. The seventh hat she will actually knit on the hike itself.

I’ve also organized a Himalayan Hiking Hats Knit-Along in the Louisa Harding group…won’t you join me and support Louisa in her incredible endeavor.
