Notes

The body of this cowl is just super simple stockinette with size 10 needles, which is the ultimate of squishy and soft in Herriot Great. I cast on something like 60, and knit until I was almost out of yarn, then did the Latvian cast off.

--> This website (http://knitfreedom.com/bind-offs/3-gorgeous-bind-offs-gar...) was super helpful while I was trying to decide how to match the stretchiness of the cast on edge.

The border is crocheted. Along both long edges and one short edge I used a little regular weight herriot, with an I hook (5.5 mm), and in every other stitch or so, did a single crochet, chained two, and another single crochet.

I’m still deciding whether I want to add buttons as the closure, or sew the unbordered edge under the bordered one for a faux-opening look. At the moment, there are 2 locking stitch markers holding it closed in the pictures.
