Looking for the perfect kind of cloche hat, I used two patterns with some modifs(!)
Needle size:4.0mm to have a somewhat rigid structure.
Cast on 16 stitches, worked in seed stitch until I reached 24”. Then I worked decreased:
RS: slip 1, ssk, knit to the last 3 stitches, K2tog,knit 1.
WS: slip 1, knit to the end of the row.

Finished the band yesterday. On a spare 2.5mm circular needle, picked up (without knitting) the back leg of the slipped stitches on the side of the seed stitch band. This is to attach the brim to the band seamlessly.
Then knit everystitch with the 4.0mm needle with 1 increase every 3 stitches.
140 Stitches in total
Knit 14 rows, then purled one row, then knit another 14 row.
DO not forget a last row of decrease: k2, k2tog.
Attach the brim to the side with 3 needlesbind off (one needleis the 2.5mm, the other is the extremity of the 4.0mm)
