Notes
  • To learn knitted-on lace edging.
  • I have no idea of how much yarn it takes to knit the edge. Perhaps 1/2 of the total? So I will knit half the yarn I have, then move on edge.

Answer: So total: 1.6 skeins, for 6 repeats total, more than 50g (1 skein) for the body as I finished the last two rows with the grey yarn.
I used 10g for those 2 rowsand used a total of 30g (0.6 skeins) for the border. If I substract the 10g for last two rows of the body it would be 20g for the border but nobody wants to be 10g short.

So for 12 repeats it should be 100g for the body (that is 400m in fingering) and 60g for the border (more than half a skein).

  • Followed the mods of link text as I like the decreases better.

Technical porblem while doing oit, most many stitches… I have to knit it again

Heat+alpaca+vent= l almost got an eviction note from my two men….. men dont know anything to yarn! I“ok wait an open place to resume with alpaca. Will do a try with some stash yarn to caclulate the proportions of yarn to use for the triangle and most importantly for the lace edge!

21-06-2017

24g left so half a skein, beginning repeat nr 5.

22-06-2017

18g left after this repeat so 6g used for this repeat.
Ajouter repeat took 9g. Working on rows 33-40.
I was too short for the two last rows (garter stitch) so I have to knit rows 5-6 with the border yarn, before starting the knitted-on lace edging.

23-06-2017

138 stitches, must increase to 142 for the top.
Because I modified the size, I modified the number of stitches to pick up accordingly.
For a multiple of 10+1+1 corner stitch, I picked up 102 st per side. Very easy of you follow the guide in the book p38 or watch the DVD (even better). You can play on the number of stitches to pick up to reach the proper number.
