Basic Sock Pattern

Project info
Basic Sock by Ann Budd
Knitting
Feet / LegsSocksMid-calf
brother-in-law
11 1/2" foot length
Needles & yarn
US 1½ - 2.5 mm
Notes

Handspun (3-ply) and sample yarn.
Using KnitPicks nickel plated sock needles, 6”. I really wish they’d have 7” needles…
Gauge - 6.5 sts to 1”

Knitted these socks one section at a time on first sock, then the same section on the other socks, and so on. This way I have no “second syndrome sock”, remember all the small details, and keep my tension even.

  1. German twisted cast-on, 50 sts
  2. Rib 1x1 on 2.5 mm needles, 7 cm or 25 rows
  3. Stockinette for 6 cm or 22 rows
  4. Partridge heel
  5. basic decrease at the toe (2”)

Only have to do - finish them off and block.

(my puppy had a hard time not to touch the socks! :-) )
