Rows 1-6 done, tail marking 5.
Apr 5th - 22.
Apr 7th -- somehow have 28 sts, not 27. Backtracked the last few sts of 21. Right side of neck done; continued the psc -- sts 3 and 5 of NR2, 3 of NR 4.
Apr 8th -- mod: edging added in one run directly from right side of neck. (Effective differences: sc part of the trim is wrong side from written, fewer ends to weave.) Start with first cord; with WS facing, sc across to other cord; WS still facing, granule stitch around entire edge.
Apr 11 -- edging finished. Ends woven in (there were only four, woo). One ear done but not sewn on. Used the end tail to pinch closed the end; threaded the beginning tail down the midline so it’s at the same end; will poke the two tails through at different spots, knot to secure, then do additional sewing + weaving. Eyes and nose/mouth may end up beng brown instead of black. Will launder before attaching ears/face to even out stitches, then again after.
Apr 14 -- there’s nothing like realizing on the second item of a pair that you misread the pattern when doing the first of the pair. Turns out R3 of the ear is not actually “just like R3 but with 5 increases per end instead of 3”, which is how I did the first one. Whoops. Did the second like the first, because it doesn’t make a huge difference, and somewhere I messed up the stitch counts because I had 8hdc on the second straight edge, but close enough.
May 8 -- finally got around to sewing the second ear on and finishing the face. Decided to embroider eyes rather than crochet+ sewing; both sewing and embroidery are pains in the metaphorical ass and literal arms, especially since I can’t use yarn needles so have to do it with a crochet hook, but of the two, embroidery is slightly easier.
