I purchased more yarn from Candy Skein after receiving it in my September 2013 Yarnbox shipment. I decided to try different bases from the dyer and this one is absolutely amazing. Sweet Fingering, 50% wool/50% silk. It has great elasticity and a beautiful shimmer that cannot be photographed. Essentially, it glows. It has a very slight halo from the wool and is unbelievably soft. Very luxurious.
I’m also planning to make a semi-matching hat, and cowl depending how much left over I have. I ordered 2 hanks, the mittens used 42 grams, so I think I’m sitting in good shape.
Oct 13 - 3 evenings of knitting and I finished the right hand. This pattern is wonderfully written. I use my iPad for my pattern notes and this pattern is perfectly suited for that. The R/L instructions are color coded along the way so that is a great feature. Fully written pattern instructions, no charts. There is a bit of cabling but it is not difficult and it is a very interesting pattern. I love the “X” between the main waves to mimic sutures. I keep wearing the one glove around the house so I better get moving on the left one…
Oct 14 - Got a late start to my evening knitting so I only had time to complete the wrist ribbing for the left glove. If I can keep the same pace as the right glove, I should be done the pair by the weekend.
Oct 19 - Finished!
