Tweaking… I finished this but then decided to redo the neck button band and left shoulder. With the weight of two garter st button bands and buttons along the cowl and shoulder, the soft drapey Vintage yarn makes the cowl neck sag and bag over very unattractively.
I unravelled the front button band completely and undid the back button band bind off then grafted the shoulder stitches with a 3 needle bind off so there’s still a band of garter to match the right shoulder. Will look at this in daylight tomorrow to see how it worked. I left the row of buttons along the edge but may remove them later since they have no function.

I’m tempted to wash this in the machine and machine dry it to see what happens, it might tighten it up a bit, make it a little smaller? It could give up several inches of positive ease and still fit. The back was exactly on gauge but the front was easily 3 -4 inches too wide, I’m wondering if the bias knitting and the drapey yarn caused it to spread horizontally?

Initially, Svisper’s notes on this design helped me a lot! I finished the short rows (see pic) only by dint of looking at her pics and reading he notes.
Next time I’d use a yarn and choose my gauge to have more body.

All in all if I knit this again I’d used the crunchier WaterShed or Shelter for this design, or possibly some handspun. I used about 4.5 skeins, I have 55g left over from the original 500g.
