Notes

Loved this poem when I was little….still do! ….my little foxes are wearing trousies and socksies!

Another lovely pattern with clear detailed instructions. I really enjoy knitting these for the grandchildren.
31/12/15 I have 2 knitted plus outfits, one more to go plus sewing together….I’ve got a pile of body parts on the coffee table!
I used the second pattern for the ears, the intarsia method, really liked how they turned out.
For the little boy fox I used the boy elephant pattern for the shorts, and instead of the textured sweater I just did stripes 2 rows of each colour. Also knit the foot/boot from the same pattern, then ran yarn through to make laces and embroidered eyelets. The bow tie I cast on 5 stitches knit approx 20 rows then gave it a twist wrapping yarn around the centre to hold then stitched on to the sweater.
The needle size I went with was a bit small on some of the thicker yarn but I stuck with it and I like how they’ve turned out nice and firm the stuffing won’t sneak out!
As usual I have a looming deadline off to see the grandchildren in 10 days, but the knitting is quick and the seaming isn’t bad, it’s fun to see how each one comes together.
Finished the knitting and starting the big sew and stuff. 04/01/16
Took me about 10 hours to knit each fox and 4 hours to finish sewing the first fox and I’m half way through the second which is going faster. So pleased, Julie Williams patterns really walk you through each step and I should finish later today or tomorrow. Loved knitting them!
