Love this pattern so quick to knit. A very girlie top for Jo.
I didn’t knit the button holes, putting a i-cord bow at the side and a tie underneath to close the front and stop the front scallop from curling down a bit. When I’d cast off the picot edge I left a long tail, after securing it, I used the remainder to chain stitch a small loop to run the i-cord through.

Knit the first stitch, cast on two, bind off four, move the remaining stitch back onto left needle and cast on two, bind off four…repeat. First time I did the bind off I made it too loose so the band flipped up at the back. I re did it using 3 mm needles and doing more decreases along the bottom back, then as I was binding off the picot edge I cast on 2 bind off 3 then bind off two stitches together all across the back…I’m sure there’s a much easier way to do it!
Jo’s just started ballet and is using the top I made for Flo 10 years ago. I thought she should have a little warm up top of her own as well.
8/8/16 just the sleeves, tie closure and finishing left to do. Used a bit of steam on the back to make it lay flat.
I got to use my snazzy new needles for the first time… Love em!
