Clarifications

1. For the back piece, where it says “On next row from RS dec 1 st each side for raglan…and repeat the dec on every other row a total of X times” do the decrease only X number of times - do not decrease and then repeat the decrease X number of times (X + 1) as the instruction seems to say.

Next time, when I send Mom a bunch of links to patterns to determine the style of the item she wants knit, I need to make sure they’re all patterns I want to knit. I wasn’t planning on her picking a specific pattern, just to narrow down a style…but she fell in love with this pattern. I know a lot of people don’t like DROPS patterns due to their brevity, but that’s just a matter of reading carefully and paying attention. What I don’t like is that this pattern is bottom up and seamed; I like top down and seamless.

The end result was beautiful though. The only thing I don’t like about the final pattern is the neckline - it is way too wide, despite all of the measurements matching the schematic. I think it’s a case you see a lot with patterns in the larger sizes, when various parts are sized up at the same proportion as the bust sizes, and that’s not how people are built. But regardless, and despite massive procrastination on my part (wove in the last end at 3:15 am the morning of the wedding), I finished it and Mom looked beautiful in it.
