Notes

OMG - a blast from the past! I had almost forgotten about this sweater, until I was going back through photos of my son from October 2007--the last month Jeffrey was an only child. And I found this.

The yarn was purchased back before I knew about my LYS--or even much of anything about yarn. I just knew it was soft and I liked the colors (loosely from Thomas the Tank Engine, which was Jeffrey’s obsession at the time). This sweater was a disaster, frankly. I didn’t know anything about sewing seams, so these are atrocious. Fortunately, the yarn hides them!

But what it can’t hide is the collar. It was the first time I’d ever picked up stitches, and I did a really poor job. I think this picture is the last time Jeffrey wore this sweater, because once it was all said and done, the neck was too tight. I could barely get it on him, and I almost took his ears off as I wedged it off.

In the end, though, this was the sweater that started it all. And for that, I love it--and I had to come back and document it for posterity.
