I opted to knit this with a fingering weight yarn I had that I really wanted to turn into a scarf for myself - I got the yarn at Madrona when the women at the Abstract Fibers booth saw me walk past with a peacock hat and told me they had the perfect colorway for me. I chose US4 needles because I liked the fabric I got with them, and then followed the pattern mostly as written. I increased until I liked the width I had, which turned out to be 9 increase sections, then checked to see how much yarn I’d used to so I could max out the straight section. I was able to get 13 repeats in the straight section before decreasing again. Since I had a bit left over, I added a small leaf right on the tip of the scarf, instead of just binding off after 4 garter rows. I would’ve liked the scarf to have been longer, but hopefully it’ll block longer - I used all but a small walnut of my yarn.

The knitting took me a lot less time than the finishing date would imply - it’s just taken me this long to find time to block it! I really enjoyed the pattern and may well knit me a few more of these.
