5/29/09 - 100% done, including those awesome buttons. They are handmade by Wooden Treasures, and I love them…so much, that although they were bigger than advertised (and thicker than I expected), I opted to stretch out the buttonholes rather than not use them. I could have put in a custom order, but I just couldn’t wait…even if Jeffrey’s not going to be wearing the sweater until fall.

5/24/09 - Done! Except for the buttons; they’re on order.

The body turned out to be exactly the length I needed; the sleeves are a little long, even with ripping out the last stripe on the top of both. But with a little rolling up they’re just a little too long, and will probably be just right come fall. I couldn’t be more chuffed with how well this had turned out!

3/21/09 - I hate moving backwards. Hate, hate, hate it.

But sometimes, it’s the right thing to do, and it has to be done. It was clear to me that the sweater risked being too short next fall for Jeffrey, and it would have bothered me to keep knitting and thinking about whether it was going to be long enough. I’d finished the back and one front…but I knew I had to rip both back to before the neck shaping.

Finished the ripping last night, and have now finished the back again--several inches longer than before. I’m glad I did it.
