Even though my gauge matched it was way too small. Circumference was only 20inches which is more like a teen/adult small. I was easily able to adjust so that it fit a 23inch head

It also wasn’t long enough (which I figured because my rows were just a tad shirt) so I added two more rows of the special shell rows.

I also left out the round of reverse single crochet.
