I was given a picture of a similar looking flip flop and asked to make it. I found a chart/diagram for one in what I believe to be Russian here:

Using the step by step pictures I was able to come up with this!!
To get the length I needed the first round is done in doubles and the second and third are done in singles
I used some embroidery floss for the flowers
