Using the two circulars knit these (my favourite method)

Used “Tillybuddy’s Very Stretchy Cast On” (page 62 in “Cast on bind off” by Leslie Ann Bestor). My first time using this cast on. Had some serious doubts about my choice when it stretched out to long gappy strands (bordered by overtightened stitches) at the “ends” after I moved half the cast on onto the second circ but it has redeemed itself … after I’d knitted the first couple of rounds of the cuff what looked like it was going to be a pair of really bad ladders snugged themselves together (long strands pulled back into the now correctly tensioned stitches) as if they had never existed. So all looks good.

Oct. 12, 2016: Have done up to row 63 of the leg chart. Realized several days ago that I had been doing some of the 2-1 and 1-1 crosses as twists. Being more careful about doing those correctly since then. Opted not to go back and fix the ones done wrong (no way am I tinking or frogging this for anything less than utter disaster) as the only way anyone’s going to be close enough to my ankles to be able to see that the stitch passing behind in the crosses is purled instead of knitted is to be fallen down drunk and thus incapable of comprehending what they’re seeing. ;p
