Since I’m using laceweight yarn instead of fingering needed to downsize the needles as well. Started by casting on to 2.25 mm needles and liked the fabric I got so the first “swatch” is now the official shawl.

Nov. 20/16: Finished chart #5 (first time)

Nov. 22/16: Finished first four rows of chart #6 (which are plain stockinette), halfway through row five patterning and am a stitch short when I reach the centre. Tinked back and counted: row is 94, 1 (centre), 94. Counted stitches in last row of chart #5, added in repeats, and that comes to 90-1-90, plus four stitches added each side in first four rows of chart #6 = 94-1-94. Row five requires even number of stitches + 5 on each side. So I’m going to go with only having two knit stitches either side of centre stitch instead of the three shown on the chart (better than messing up the edge stitching) and wait to see if the stitch count is okay when I finish chart #6 and start chart #4 for the second time.

Nov. 26/16: Finished chart #6, back to chart #4 and the first row of #4 fits the last row of #6 perfectly without any creative tweaks needed. Hurrah! So it’s just an error in row 5 of chart #6 … shows three plain knit stitches on either side of centre but the patterning only leaves you two on either side and that’s the way it should be. :-)

Nov. 30/16: Finished chart #4 (second time)

Dec. 18/16: Finished chart #5 (second time). On to chart #7!

Typo in row 2 of chart #7: symbol in fourth box from left in “L” section is for a yarn over but should be a knit stitch (to mirror the edge stitches in the “R” section of this row)
