using handspun yarn
purples:
hand carded rolags of purple (weird partially felted purple stuff that is wool, from Elise), and white/pink (alpaca from various places, some suri, some huacaya)
spun on my wheel, slowest whorl, worsted-ish weight singles. still a little extra twist in them, but I don’t care. don’t want to ply them.
creams:
spun from alpaca roving or a mystery longwool, like wensleydale or something. or there’s a batch of merino-alpaca rolags that I blended in here too. all worsted-ish weight singles. made on wheel on slowest whorl.
basic pattern idea:
CO 3 sts
kfb in 1st st, knit all rest of row
repeat until I use up half of my purple yarns
then pick up stitches around the edge of the square and do an old shale lace pattern in white for a few inches.
