An cardigan for a new baby girl is a perfect project, as I just began to knit.

Bamboulène is known as a good yarn for beginners, and sweet for babies’ skin.

A friend of mine gave me the Petrol blue yarn and the magazine with all these lovely patterns for mini-guys. I completed with the Flannel color, and chose the cardigan with garter stitch-cowl.

My gauge is smaller than the original. I casted on size 6M and obtained a newborn size.
This project is very easy to knit, since the stripes help to match both sides and to count rows.
I simply didn’t understand how to make the buttonholes, so I just made a hole pulling on two stitches and slipped into it the button.

I wish I had made a few rows in garter stitch at the bottom, to prevent it from rolling up.

Anyway it’s cute and the baby will certainly not be shocked by these little mistakes!
