Notes

After six months of endless duo knit, I finally made it ! This pullover is an ambitious project since it’s only my third homemade knitwear.

The yarn has a strange color - like a shiny-rainy day - which I’m not sure to like. But I’m happy with its softness and luminous silk sparkles. The stitch definition is’nt perfect, I hope that it will disappear after wet blocking.

Some modifications are made to the pattern : deeper neckline, longer diagram, added strip and buttons on top of the back.
Sleeves are sadly much too long, it’s a big deception after so many months. One day, I may have the courage to frog and re-knit the bottom of the sleeves…

Anyway, I’m pretty happy with this homeknitted nifty warm pullover!

EDIT 06.11.2014
Sleeves are finally altered! Thanks to the kitchener stitch method, I could cut and re-assemble properly the sleeves at a normal length.
This way, the simili-Sessun is just perfect. 14 months later, the yarn has no bobbles and is still very warm and soft.

--- Notes ---

14.03.2013
Having problems to hit the yarn gauge: if I make so, the stitches seem far too loose for a sweater…
Tried to knit with 2 threads to hit the pattern gauge, it’s not better, always too loose.
Decided to make my own gauge and calculate after it the number of stitches and rows.

20.03.2013
Finally done with all these samples: my gauge is 33s x 40r, knitted with 3mm needles, and 2.5mm neddles for the hems.
Casting on!

03.04.2013
Finished first ball, knitted mid-back from ribs to waist.
With only 8 balls, I guess I won’t have enough yarn…

24.04.2013
Back is over! It is very big, but maybe OK for a loose sweater. I made a split on top, and knitted a small buttoning up strip just for fun.
Used 2.5 balls for complete back.
Gauge is finally 28.5s x 39r.
I’m casting on the front!

12.05.2013
Finished fourth ball, knitted mid-front from ribs to the 20 first rows of diagram. I added a yarn over a the begin of the diagram. Can’t wait to see the ended front!

17.06.2013
Finally finished the front. I had to frog many times the diagram: it was miscentered, I forgot some yarn over… Happy to continue with the collar and sleeves.

12.08.2013
First sleeve is finished, second sleeves is on its way. I knitted the collar a few weeks ago but don’t like it - I will have to re-knit it!

01.09.2013
Collar i re-knitted, sleeves are finished and nearly assembled. I’m pretty happy with this pullover, except the fact that the sleeves are much too long! +10cm, it’s like it’s been knitted for an orang utan… I still don’t know if I wear it like this (rolled on sleeves) or if I fix this tiny problem. Photos to come!
