I bought this yarn April 30th and couldn’t help but wind it into a cake and cast on right away. The sock is delightfully easy to knit. The pattern is easy to follow and any dropped stitches and mistakes are easily enough fixed.

This is very unlike me, to have so much drive to knit a sock but the yarn is touchably soft and luxurious. It stripes beautifully with the pattern, too.

Modifications:

Instead of 5 repeats of the pattern I did six, and instead of 11 rows I did 10 rows. I have big feet and don’t want to use too much yarn, but I still want a decently sized sock.

When I reached the toe I wanted to finish the lace pattern instead of stop mid pattern so instead of decreasing one round and knitting one round at the toe I just decreased all rounds. It made for a nicely curved toe. Rounded instead of triangular. Plus, it followed the lace pattern well.

Anyway, today is May 3rd and I have finished the first sock. Yes. Finished a sock in four days. Who the hell am I, and where did I put Jupe?

05-04-11: Starting on the second heel. This sock has been a hell of a lot more of a pain in the ass than the first. I keep dropping stitches and losing concentration. I blame preggo brain.

Later, same day: Well, four more reps of pattern and I can make the toe. I’ll likely finish this tomorrow. Whee!

05-05-11: Aaaaaand after fighting with the toe a bit, I finished these puppies. Wow. A pair of socks in five days. I don’t even know who I am.
