Notes

03-17-09: Cast on. Had a bit of difficulty getting my momentum, but after a few hours, I hammered out quite a bit of the blanket. It’s actually looking REALLY good with these colours. I’ll add a picture in the morning.

03-18-09: Blanket measures 15 inches in diameter at 5:30pm. We’ll see how it measures later this evening when I put it down for the night.

03-20-09: Blanket is now 19 inches in diameter. It’s becoming slower and slower to knit, understandably, as it’s getting 10 stitches larger with every second row. I decided to shake things up a bit in the pattern and create an eyelet row at the halfway mark. I’ll probably finish with a similar row to give it a bit of continuity. It’s looking awesome, though. Super soft, and the colours really pop.

03-21-09: Had to rip out 7 rows. One of the vertical eyelet rows was wrong, and I couldn’t fix it for the life of me.

03-22-09: had to rip it all out twice more and redo it. I think I’m over that hump, finally.

03-27-09: Finishing up the third blue stripe. Only 4 more stripes to go. The blanket is currently 360 stitches in circumference :O If my math is correct, and it seldom is, I will finish the blanket with about 480 stitches around.

03-29-09: Started the second last colour stripe. I’m glad it’s almost done. It’s just so many stitches in circumference… over 400. Every row takes a long time now :P Anyway, I have a few ideas for the border. Going to keep it simple since this blanket will be for a boy, and I don’t want to make it too lacey, but I also don’t want it to be solid.

I would, ideally, like to finish this blanket by Tuesday. We’ll see how that goes.

10:30pm: Finished the second last stripe. Doesn’t look like I’ll have enough blue for a full sized final stripe, so I’ll just make a nice, thin eyelet trim. Nice and simple.

03-30-09: Bound off and sat back to glory in my finished-ness. Going to weave in the edges and then it’ll be done!

10:50pm: Weaved in all the edges and trimmed the flyaway yarn. It’s all done and it’s absolutely beautiful!

Comments 03-31-09: made some matching booties. When I was trying to take a picture of the booties with the blanket, my son got hold of it and thought it was great fun yanking the blanket away just as mom was trying to take photographs of it. Little toad. :P
