Notes

I had this belt all knit up without even realizing it. It was very quick and easy. I memorized the 8-row repeated pattern after the first few inches. I made a few mistakes along the way, but the cables were easy to knit backwards and redo. Instead of a two-opening belt buckle I used a one-opening buckle taken from an old leather belt of my mother’s. I also added a loop to hold the tail of the belt. It looks quite nice. I had to model it. The original pattern calls for soybean yarn. I tried to find fancy fibers--I thought it’d be really cool to knit it out of corn or something--but I was so excited to start knitting it that I didn’t want to wait. So I found some nice cotton yarn from my stash and went to town!

It was knit for Mister and Missus’ son, Boy.
