Notes

My Souper Bowl 2018 Project for the Raffle. I sold over 285 tickets. at $1/each this is the most I’ve ever raised! The actual count got a bit muddled because funds for this raffle unintentionally got mingled with a Chinese Auction. But they all went into the same pot for the food pantry so it doesn’t really matter. ;)

The winner is Lisa R.

Brioche is deeply textured, soft, snuggly, and a yarn hog. We are having one of the colder winters of late so I think this project will be inviting to both make and wear.

These tranquil colors, one of which is Blue Moonstone, inspired the name. Tranquility Base is the site of the first lunar landing and walk on the surface. Our family joined countless others in staying glued to the TV and radio during the entire Apollo 11 Mission in July, 1969.

BEBEB = Best Ever Beautifully Edged Brioche ;)

Using Nancy’s Pattern but will make color blocks by swapping which color I use first in the two row repeat. (I shamelessly stole the idea from the Churros pattern.)

Love how well the two-color Italian cast on works with brioche. Some great videos on YouTube to demonstrate this.

I did have to frog and restart several times till my brioche was neat and error free (for the most part!). Like playing Euchre, I have to relearn what to do and how to read the knitting and then practice a good bit before I’m good to go, but then it flows.

I think the larger the needle, the more the fabric spreads laterally. This isn’t worsted weight yarn but I still chose to use a US 6 needle. I think washing and gently blocking will help the yarn bloom and soften a bit too. I am happy with this relaxed fabric and the subtle contrasts in this cool color palette. Perfect for winter.

Great Bind Off!
