Notes

Making these socks in tandem with my pattern partner, meaph, in the Sock Knitter’s Group, the January/February 2012 KAL. Hers will be a sumptuous blue…

I started with JMCO because the pattern’s cast on was strange and seemed to me like more work than it was worth. Other than that I’m following what’s written. Makes a rather pointy toe but I’m hoping blocking will tame them to fit well.

The bit that looks like a cable is a clever faux cable. Easy with great results.

A lovely, interesting knit. And I’m thrilled, as always, with this yarn.

Worked the Instep/Gusset Chart through Round 59.

I’m dreading the heel and flap just a bit because I don’t usually knit socks this way. My first attempts revealed that I’m confused by the directions… sigh…

Ended up making a simple stockinette heel and doing my own thing to get there, but it works.

Used a 2.5 mm needle for the Russian Bind Off. I’m all thumbs with a crochet hook, but I liked the look of the edging so I slogged through. Love these!

Ooooh! My finished socks were featured in the FO Gallery of the Twist Collective February 2013 Newsletter!
