Notes

Oh, hrumph! I didn’t pay attention to yardage requirements and one skein of Lamb’s Pride isn’t enough…

It’s a cleverly constructed hat. Hoping it will be a great one for Dad.

The hat was very fuzzy after felting so I will need to shave or trim the surface hairs off so it’s more smooth and masculine. One and a half cycles through the washer was all I needed to get it to this size.

Hat shaved and looks much better! Conventional wisdom says to never iron your knitting, but this hat is an exception. I ironed the bill to compress its thickness a bit and sharpen its profile with pressure. Also flattened the upper bill a bit too, smoothing it out. Using my tailoring ham ironed all the surfaces. This helped set the shape and smoothed the fabric. Then, using some Knit Picks Palette, charcoal gray, I tacked the two brims together, about half way in from the edge of the upper bill. Finishing touch is my Karendidit label, hand sewn in the crown’s center. Hope it fits!!

Well, phoo! I bundled it up to mail and realized I didn’t get official FO photos. Dad will have to send me some.
